INTRODUCTION

There has been no residents group on Woodgate Valley for a year or two now. The start of 2010 see's a fresh start for residents, as a new residents group begins the forming process. The ball has already begun rolling, however it is far from too late to find out more about being involved. Being a part of the residents group is open to anyone who is interested.

The residents group will be being assisted as it sets up by a number of people including:

- The West Midlands Police

- St Francis Church and Community Centre

- St Francis Youth Project

- Woodgate Valley Health Centre

- Non-such Primary School

MAIN STORY

Over a year and a half ago the Community Forum stopped meeting due to some of the members struggling to commit the time, as well as lack of other people coming forward to help. The group will shortly be re-opening, however to do this we will be needing the help of the people of Woodgate Valley. There will be a number of ways that you can be involved, all that will be explained further as they develop.

The forum will be a great opportunity for people to see change on Woodgate Valley. As a nation we are in a period of economic crisis, this affects all of us, and never before has there been a time when we all need to work together to see change in our community. Maybe you think there should be more things to do, maybe you think there should be more support for residents, or maybe there is a particular issue that you think needs to be addressed. Either way there is funding around and opportunities for residents to step up and lead the demand for these things.

At present we would like to encourage you to let us know if you might be interested on being on any kind of forum that might grow soon. Not only that but to let us know if there is any other way that you would like to help serve your community. There will be opportunites coming up to work as part of a fun day commitee, as well as many others. For more information or to make it known you are interested in helping and letting us know what you are good at, drop by the centre and let us know.

There will also be the chance to volunteer with the Youth Club and in the centre itself, for more information about these things, phone or e-mail centre staff - details on the contacts page.
